Part of the new compound in 2004 included the construction of a supply room, medical/aid station and a building for our local interpreters to live in. The three buildings were almost identical, and built next to each other.
The evolution of these buildings is indicative of how far FOB Sharana has come in the past 6 years. It has evolved from remote combat outpost, to fully functioning city.

The foundations for the 3 buildings.

From left to right...the supply room, medical/aid station and interpreter housing during early construction in 2004.

This is a bad picture, but it was the only one I could find on my hard drive of the completed buildings in 2005.

Here's another view, which I grabbed from an old PowerPoint that we used to use when briefing VIPs.

The old "aid station" today...it is now a barber shop.

Inside the barber shop.

The supply room is now a Green Beans Coffee Shop!

Spiced Chai Latte anyone?
