Unfortunately, we lost our second Soldier this past Wednesday. SPC Donald Nichols, 21, of Shell Rock was killed while on patrol not far from Mehtar Lam. His vehicle was was hit by an IED. SPC Timothy Gourd, 24, of Prescott was injured. SPC Nichols' uncle is over here with us (RED BULLS), and his brother was in Kandahar at the time of his death with another unit. The sacrifice that some families are making for this War is substantial. Both Soldiers were veterans of Operation BULL WHIP, and many other operations and missions within Laghman Province.
