One of the comical things here on Bagram is the apparent lack of planning and zoning. Buildings, roads, sidewalks and everything of the sort seems to be very peculiarly arranged. Some of this is understandable. Bagram has been under continuous construction since the beginning of the War, and many things were arranged around minefields that have since been cleared, as well as a lack of visibility for just how long we would be here...9 years and counting.
Also of note is the crumbling infrastructure. Years of rain, snow, sun and wind exposure on untreated wooden structures has taken a toll...it is evident everywhere you look. On the way back from the chow hall the other day, I stopped and took the time to take a couple pictures.
